Sciences de la nature: learning about the application of Bernoulli's principle 

Sciences humaines: learning about and discussing the impact of Residential Schools and the Winnipeg General Strike

Field Trips!

 Students have received permission forms for the following two field trips:

Tuesday, June 21st: Walking Tour of the Exchange District & The Manitoba Museum & Planetarium!

Tuesday, June 28th: Rainbow Stage Production of The Hockey Sweater!


Both of these field trips are FREE!

Kindly sign and return the permission forms.






Science = Fun!

 This afternoon students had the chance to create their best paper airplane by following printed directions or by following directions online. 




Students then competed in a class competition to see whose airplane would fly the farthest.

CFOO!

 In Français, it's time for our FINAL CFOO (Le Club Fabuleux des Orateurs et Oratrices)! 

This is a public speaking "club" that will help students improve their oral French skills through short speeches.

This time around, students can choose any one of the presentation options that they have not already presented. They will prepare their short oral presentation, fulfilling all of the criteria (listed on the pages they have in their binder).

Students should also keep in mind eye contact, volume and expression during their presentation.

The CFOO Presentations will take place on Thursday, June 16th.

Google Doodle!

 In Social Studies, each student researched a Canadian province or territory.

Using the results of their research, they had to create a Google Doodle including the following details:
-the flag 
-the flower 
-the population
-a symbol representing the capital city
-a symbol representing a tourist attraction
-a symbol representing an interesting fact
-any additional symbol

Field Trip!

 6-1 had the chance to visit the brand-new 

Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada!


Students learned about the forces involved with flight 

through an entertaining lecture.




Students then had the chance to experience a guided tour of the museum and the multiple aircrafts and even got to sit in a vintage airplane!








What a great field trip!

Field Trip!

 6-1 is off on a field trip on Thursday, May 26th!

We'll be heading to the brand-new Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada to learn more about flight and have a guided tour.

We'll be leaving at 12:45 p.m. by bus and will return to school at 3:15 p.m.

The school is covering the cost of this field trip so all students need to do is hand in their signed permission form!
